This circular walk across the dry, sandy trails of lowland heathland is generally mud-free* and is therefore a great option for a short family walk. Simply follow the beetle way-marks from the car park. The trails are narrow and (in our opinion) not suitable for pushchairs.

Whilst dogs are welcome, it is essential that they are kept on a lead or on the path from March to September. The three key heathland birds: woodlark, nightjar and tree pipit, all nest on the ground, making them vulnerable to disturbance by dogs running free.

Public toilets can be found in the nearby historic town of Midhurst (GU29 9DW). The car park here offers up to 2 hours free parking and there are several options for refreshments nearby.

*There are a few areas which can get water-logged and muddy in winter.
