Wheel-friendly route:

We recommend parking in North Street car park (pay & display), since there are toilets and you will encounter the farm shop and cafe halfway through your walk.

However, you could just as easily begin at the free farm shop car park (GU29 0AH) - just be mindful that toilet facilities here are for cafe patrons only.

The route is flat, lightly sandy underfoot and pushchair/wheelchair friendly. A bridge over the River Rother is located opposite the ruins and is a great spot for a game of Pooh Sticks.

For those travelling on foot, there is also the option of taking a short walk along the river bank and through light woodland (see map for suggested circuit).

The route is suitable for dogs, provided they are kept under control.

The farm shop, cafe and takeaway kiosk are located in a beautiful courtyard setting and make a very pleasant option for lunch or a snack break.
