From the car park, turn left - heading down the hill to the traffic lights. Turn left at the traffic lights into the High Street and take the steep ramp down to the promenade. Once on the promenade, turn right and walk a couple of hundred metres to a rockpooling beach of your choice.
Take care(!), the majority of the rocks are covered in slippery seaweed. If you have young children, we advise exploring only the pools which are closest to the shingle beach.
After rockpooling, take the kids for a walk, cycle or scoot along the promenade (known as the Undercliff Path). Head west towards Brighton Marina (3.5 km each way) or east to Saltdean (1.2 km each way). The White Cliffs Cafe at Saltdean is a good place to stop for refreshments and is dog friendly.
The beaches between Brighton Marina and Rottingdean are dog friendly, year round, although dogs are not allowed on the beach immediately in front of the Rottingdean slope and the first beach to the east.
Toilets are located at the bottom of the access ramp.
