The majority of the Abbot's Amble Trail is along forest roads - gravel tracks that can be uneven but are relatively mud-free and wheelchair friendly. The part of the trail that follows dirt trails through the wood can become very muddy during the winter months and after periods of wet weather.
The Oak Wood Trail is formed mainly of dirt trails.
There is a small play area adjacent to the car park, which may act as an incentive for younger children. There are also plenty of picnic tables to enjoy well-earnt, post-walk refreshments.
Dogs can be exercised off-lead here (provided they are kept under control). Waste bins and toilet facilities can be found in the car park.
